What each test does
Left / right stereo test
Plays a clear tone through the left channel, then the right, then alternates between them. On a phone in landscape or a laptop, you should hear each side at equal volume. If one side is silent or noticeably quieter, that speaker may be blocked by dust or water — run the speaker cleaner — or it may be a hardware fault.
Frequency sweep (rattle & range test)
Sweeps smoothly from a deep 50 Hz up to around 16 kHz. A healthy speaker reproduces the sweep as one continuous, clean tone. Listen for buzzing, rattling, or sudden silence at certain pitches — those can indicate trapped debris, a loose component, or a damaged driver.
Microphone check
Confirms your microphone is capturing sound. Tap the button and speak or tap near the mic; the level bar should move. If it stays flat, check your browser’s microphone permission or whether the mic is physically blocked.
How to read your results
